Theraputic Massage and Indian Head Massage

Massage benefits both mind and body. It is rare that we take an hour to lie down, close our eyes and just 'be'. An hour's peace and quiet away from ringing phones and demanding children has a definite restorative effect.
Massage helps taut muscles learn to relax and this, combined with strokes to aid lymphatic drainage, helps to release toxins and in turn helps the body relax and balance itself.

The benefits can be felt by all ages, backgrounds and lifestyles. According to the Massage Association, research has verified that office workers massaged regularly were more alert, performed better and were less stressed than those who weren't massaged. Of course, it is not just office workers who benefit. Stress affects different people in a myriad of ways, both physically and emotionally.

Massage

Stiffness and soreness in muscles can be due to a wide range of physical factors from an overly energetic session in the gym or carrying too much shopping home, to poor posture through being seated at a desk all day or excessive time behind the steering wheel. The causes are not always physical however. Emotional tension and the day to day stresses that life throws at us can manifest in headaches caused by a stiff neck and shoulders and the body generally tensing up in response to stress, especially if there is not the opportunity to release.

Massage can help people to deal with emotional problems such as grief and depression (www.WorldwideHealth.com).Indian Head MassageIndian Head Massage is the traditional Indian technique of massaging the upper back, neck, shoulders, face and scalp with the client remaining seated.

Benefits

As well as being relaxing and an excellent stress buster, an Indian Head Massage treatment can also prove to be an invigorating and refreshing experience. Clients often report a 'balanced' feeling of peace and calm and can feel more alert and revitalised following a treatment. Like all holistic therapies, Indian Head Massage helps to restore a state of balance by relieving stress through the body's natural healing process. Once the body is "in tune", it is wise to have regular treatments to help maintain a state of balance.

Fees

Estelle endeavours to treat each client as an individual, therefore the duration of appointments and fees will vary.
Each treatment – either sports massage or holistic therapy includes a detailed consultation, full postural assessment, formation of a treatment plan and after-care suggestions, which can include stretching exercises.
Treatments are therefore based on £40.00 per hour or £27.00 per half hour.
Estelle is willing to do mobile treatments if you cannot make it into the clinic, but unfortunately an additional £10.00 per visit will apply in most circumstances.  We will do our best to find an appointment time to suit you at the clinic.
