When most people hear the term Sports Massage, they picture a professional runner prepping for a marathon or a rugby player recovering from a match. While we certainly help athletes perform at their peak, the truth is that a lot of our clients at Attend2Health aren’t professional sportspeople.

They are people who sit at desks, people who garden, grandparents who want to pick up their grandkids without a “twinge,” and anyone feeling the physical toll of everyday stress as well as our weekend warriors running park runs.

What is Sports Massage, Really?

At its core, a sports massage is a targeted, functional approach to soft tissue therapy. Unlike a standard “spa” massage which focuses on general relaxation, a sports massage aims to:

  • Identify and release specific areas of muscle tension.
  • Improve range of motion and flexibility.
  • Reduce chronic “achy” feelings caused by repetitive posture (like “tech neck”).
  • Speed up recovery from minor everyday strains.

Meet the Experts: A Wealth of Experience

The reason our patients see such great results is the level of clinical expertise behind every session. We don’t just “rub muscles”; we understand the science of how they move.

  • Oliver Townsend (Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist): Qualified to a high vocational standard, Oliver has the advanced training to assess your posture and movement, ensuring your treatment is as effective as possible.

  • Oliver Smith (BSc Sports Therapy): With a full degree in Sports Therapy, Oliver brings a deep academic and clinical understanding of musculoskeletal health and injury prevention.

  • Hayley Pottle (20+ Years Experience): Hayley has been a Sports Massage Therapist for over two decades. There isn’t much she hasn’t seen, and her “hands-on” experience is a vital asset to our patients. Hayley can also do Lymphatic drainage massages.

  • Katie Ellis (Level 3 Sports Massage Therapist) Katie is a Sports Massage Therapist but is also able to do Lymphatic Drainage Massages as well.

Why You Might Need a Session

You don’t need a gold medal to deserve a body that moves well. You might benefit from a session if:

You work at a desk: “Office shoulders” are real. We help undo the tension caused by hours of sitting.

You have a physical job: If you’re on your feet or lifting all day, your muscles need maintenance just like a high-performance car.

You’re “Active 50+”: Keeping your mobility is the key to independence.

You’re feeling stressed: Physical tension often manifests in the neck and upper back.

          Experience the Attend2Health Difference

As a multi-award-winning clinic, we pride ourselves on a multidisciplinary approach. If our massage team feels your tension might be better addressed by our Chiropractors, Osteopaths, or Physiotherapists, we can cross-refer you internally to ensure you get the right care.

We are open 7 days a week and most nights until 7pm or 8pm, making it easy to fit your recovery into a busy schedule. We are located in Buntingford which is just 10 minutes from Ware up the A10 and 10 minutes from Royston down the A10 so we are easy to find.

You can park outside for up to one hour or 90 minutes for free at the Co-Op nearby. We are just down the A507 from Baldock and not far from Puckeridge or Barkway either.
