Hearing Tests and Hearing Aids
Dr Adesugba can conduct a thorough hearing assessment including:
· an examination of the ear
· a hearing test which involves Pure Tone Audiometry (including Air Conduction, Bone Conduction and Masking)
· Results and then if a hearing aid is recommended.
· If you need a hearing aid then we can recommend an instrument after looking at your lifestyle, what it needs to cope with and your preferences.
Fitting of an instrument
Dr Adesugba can then fit the desired instrument giving you full instructions on how to use it and look after it.
You will be covered by the manufacturers guarantee and please come back to us anytime if you have any questions.
Once a year we can review your hearing and reprogram the instrument where needed. We can also clean the instrument.
A solution for everyone
Dr Adesugba can supply and fit hearing aids from a large range of different instruments. The range goes from the tiny Completely in the ear (CIC) models which fit into the ear canal, to discreet instruments such as the RITE models which is where the receiver is in the ear.
- Do your ears feel blocked?
- Are you prone to wax building up in the ears?
Please note that cotton buds are not recommended for wax removal. Cotton buds can actually push earwax further down your ear canal.
Dr Adesugba can clear occluding wax in your ear(s) effectively, with a simple and painless procedure. We can use either micro suction or water irrigation to gently remove the wax.
Do you find you have a ringing or buzzing sound in the ears? If so, you may have tinnitus.
Tinnitus can be worse at night when there is no background noise. There are a number of ways of managing tinnitus depending on the cause. We offer a tinnitus consultation where you can find out more about the cause of your tinnitus and if there is anything you can do to help. Why not book an appointment today and start to see the cause of your tinnitus.
Do you suffer from dizziness or a balance problem? As we get older it is a lot more common to suffer from balance disorders such as BPPV or other forms of dizziness.
If you are suffering from dizziness, we offer a comprehensive consultation where we can try and find out the cause of your dizziness and treat it if possible.
There are also vestibular exercises that can be given to help some forms of dizziness.
